Western Australia will take three sides to the upcoming National Cricket Inclusion Championships to be held in Brisbane from 20 – 25 January.
WA will be represented in the Intellectual Disability, Blind and Low Vision, and Men’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing competitions.
Each team will be looking to improve on last season’s performances where the Blind and Low Vision squad made it to the final, and the other two sides showed some promising signs in the regular rounds.
WA Cricket Inclusion and Diversity Specialist Jade Wyllie says the National Cricket Inclusion Championships are a great initiative from Cricket Australia to support cricketers of all abilities.
“We are well on our way to making cricket a sport for all, and competitions like this help bring people together to do what they love in a safe and supportive environment.
“With the support of the WA Cricket Foundation, we are able to provide a high performance pathway for our inclusion cricketers, with the ultimate goal being State and National selection.
“We are proud to have three State teams representing Western Australia in these championships and look forward to seeing how they perform across the week.”
