WA Cricket is pleased to welcome Peet as a Community Supporter of the WA Cricket Foundation.
As current Principal Partner of the Perth Scorchers, Peet will be expanding their pre-existing relationship with WA Cricket as they move to support the Foundation and showcase their commitment to community programs.
Peet will provide support to the Aboriginal Cricket and Young Women in Cricket pillars, specifically the Social Leaders and Aboriginal Leadership programs.
The WA Cricket Foundation’s Aboriginal Cricket pillar focuses on engaging young Aboriginal people through the game of cricket, which in turn weaves connection and collaboration across communities.
Together we can expand our reach of over 1,600 participants into the regions and give young Aboriginal people a pathway to greater opportunities through sport.
Young Women in Cricket is an important pillar which works with over 500 girls from diverse backgrounds who are often underserved, helping them on their journey to personal success by building skills around communication and collaboration.
Both the Social Leaders and Aboriginal Leadership programs focus on young people developing leadership skills, personal resilience, and responsibility, using cricket as a vehicle to implement the skills into their local communities and find a sense of belonging.
As a Perth Scorchers Partner, Peet has also kindly offered their bat flip opportunity at the WBBL Aboriginal Game to a participant of the Aboriginal Leadership program.
WA Cricket’s Head of Philanthropy Carolyn Turner is excited about this expanding relationship, and the support it will bring to Aboriginal youth and young girls around the state.
“We are fortunate that our relationship has been nurtured to now allow the Foundation to become a beneficiary of this support,” she said.
“Working with Peet will grant the Foundation new opportunities to grow our leadership programs within the Aboriginal Cricket and Young Women in Cricket pillars, which will benefit our wider community.”
Peet Managing Director and CEO Brendan Gore is looking forward to building on the successful partnership that Peet has had with the Scorchers to further its commitment to the community.
“Through our partnerships, we align with like-minded organisations that have a strong focus on community and inclusion,” Gore said.
“Having been a partner of the Perth Scorchers for over five years, we are now pleased to be extending that relationship by becoming a Community Supporter of the WA Cricket Foundation.
Cricket is a great way to bring people together to connect, and these programs help to build important leadership skills for young people from diverse backgrounds.”
