The WA Cricket Foundation is helping to empower young women to become the next leaders of our game through programs like Cricket Inspire.
Aimed at high school aged students, Cricket Inspire develops leadership skills around Emotional Intelligence, Influence and Communication.
After six months in the program a group of 15 aspiring cricketers graduated the ‘Emerging Leaders Program’ on Monday 13 September.
Caitlin Spencer, WA Cricket’s Female Engagement and Volunteers Specialist said it was great to see how much confidence was gained throughout the program;
“Currently, one in two girls drop out of sport and the research suggests this is mostly because of confidence issues.
“Our goal is to empower these young women to feel confident in who they are in their cricket community so that they stay engaged with sport and inspire others to do the same.
“Already, we have helped hundreds of young women across many demographics and backgrounds to find a pathway to success when they previously have not had the opportunity.”
