The Western Australian Cricket Association held a special event at the Perth Scorchers match at Optus Stadium on Tuesday 12 January, to acknowledge and thank those who have supported the Western Australia Cricket Foundation (WACF).

More than 50 guests heard from WACA Chair Hon. Tuck Waldron and WACA CEO Christina Matthews who provided insight into how their support of the WACF will help benefit the wider WA Cricket community and the iconic WACA Ground into the future.

Donations received through the WACF have helped fund and support key initiatives and cricket programs that are driving positive outcomes in the areas of female, disability and Aboriginal cricket.

Guests also received an update on how the WACA Ground Improvement Project, which is being supported through the WACF, is progressing and its timeline.

To round out the event, guests witnessed the Scorchers cement an incredible victory over the Hobart Hurricanes –  their fifth win on the trot.

WACA CEO Christina Matthews said;

“It was fantastic to get all those who have shown incredible support through the WA Cricket Foundation together and thank them for their generosity, as well as welcome them to the WA Cricket family.

“It was a fantastic opportunity for us to share how their support is making a difference within the WA cricket community at the grassroots level and beyond.

“It was nice to treat them to an incredible Scorchers win too.”
