The WA Cricket Foundation is thrilled to be part of Euroz Hartleys Commission for a Cause for the third consecutive year and wholeheartedly welcomes their generous donation of $75,000.
Commission for a Cause sees the company donate a day’s worth of brokerage commissions to four Western Australian charities, and this year a total of $300,000 was raised.
Eight WA Cricket players, CEO Christina Matthews, WA Cricket Foundation ambassador Mike Hussey, and WA Cricket great Adam Gilchrist were invited to Euroz Hartleys on Friday June 9 to meet the staff on the trading floor and exchange stories from the cricket and corporate world.
Players included Alana King, Chloe Piparo, Maddy Darke, Josh Phillipe, Matt Kelly, Ashton Agar, Jhye Richardson, and Jason Behrendorff.
WA Cricket Foundation Head of Philanthropy and Special Events Carolyn Turner said Commission for a Cause was an incredible collaboration to be part of.
“We are excited by the opportunities we will be able to provide to young Aboriginal people, those in the community with a disability, and socially disadvantaged young people through the funds raised,” Turner said.
“The donation will allow us to expand our reach into those key areas and ensure every Western Australian has equal opportunity to benefit from a sense of belonging and access to a brighter future.”
Euroz Hartleys Executive Chairman Andrew McKenzie said many of their clients timed their trades so they could make a difference, knowing the brokerage commissions were going to worthy charities.
“Giving back to our community is part of our culture and we’re proud to once again make a significant difference to four outstanding WA charities,” McKenzie said.
The WA Cricket Foundation looks forward to continuing to nurture and expand the relationship with Euroz Hartleys and the Commission for a Cause initiative for many years to come.
