WA Cricket is pleased to welcome Freo Group as a Community Supporter of the WA Cricket Foundation.
Freo Group will provide to support all three of the Foundation’s key pillars – Aboriginal Cricket, Young Women in Cricket, and People with a Disability.
The WA Cricket Foundation’s pillar supporting Aboriginal communities focuses on sharing a greater understanding of the benefits of physical and mental health through our tailored programs, which use cricket as a vehicle to create a safe space for open conversation and awareness.
The Foundation supports People with a Disability by creating a sense of belonging for all participants and parents as we bring families into a safe and welcoming environment that offers customised learning and capacity development opportunities.
Our programs are specifically tailored to those with a disability and allow participants to be themselves with people who have a lived experience, from early childhood right through to senior and elite pathways.
The Young Women in Cricket pillar allows us to empower the next generation of young women by building skills and enabling opportunities and pathways through sport.
The Foundation works with girls and young women from diverse backgrounds who are often underserved, to help them on their journey to personal success by building resilience and human skills around communication and collaboration.
WA Cricket Head of Philanthropy Carolyn Turner says the multi-year commitment promises to be prosperous for all involved.
“It is wonderful to have Freo Group supporting our three key pillars and the various different programs we tailor to these demographics,” Turner said.
“As the reach of our Foundation continues to grow, we look forward to working closely with Freo Group to create positive impact in communities right across Western Australia.
“We look forward to building a brighter tomorrow as we work together to enrich the lives of Aboriginal youth, people with a disability, and young women and girls.”
Freo Group President and CEO Sven Gade is looking forward to working together to benefit Aboriginal communities.
“Freo Group employs staff and operates cranes across Australia, often in very remote regions and towns and the WA Cricket Foundation’s vision and programs align well with our values of care and support for our employees, their families, and the communities we live and operate in,” Gade said.
“We are committed to strengthen our local and indigenous community relationships and support diversity and inclusivity. We are looking forward to getting involved in the WA Cricket Foundation’s programs and are keen to learn how we can further support their cause.”
